Don't do it!

I called Sunboost to get a quote for a solar system, all I wanted was a quote. They used very high pressure sales tactics and say you have to pay a deposit immediately otherwise the prices will go up, under the ruse that you can get a full refund within the cooling off period if you change your mind. The rep I spoke to also wanted me to pay deposit for panels that won't even fit on my roof (he said "it doesn't matter" that they couldn't actually be installed), apparently they earn a commission for each deposit paid so they just want you to pay the maximum deposit, whether that many panels will fit on your roof or not. The more I thought about my interaction with them the more uncomfortable I felt about going with them, I suspect they'll close up their business as soon as the warranty claims start coming through just like True Value Solar. I told them I wanted to cancel within the cooling off period, and they just wouldn't take no for an answer. They want to interrogate you as to why you're cancelling and just keep trying to talk you into staying with them. Now I'm having to chase after them to try to get my deposit back, it's turning into a massive stuff around and a waste of time. They won't tell me when I will receive the refund, the last update I got was 'hopefully ASAP'. Do not trust anything they tell you, and definitely do not pay the deposit until you're completely sure you want to go with them.

Ignoring my request for a $200,- deposit refund.

On the 15 of January 2019 - 14 days ago I requested from [name removed] a full refund of deposit of $200,- on my 6.6Kwh solar system offer as I decided to go with different solar company. The reason for my decision was a very poor customer services and pushy approach of person from Sunboost to close the deal and catch me into signing the contract. My request for technical information and the inverter custom installation in my preferable location were ignored completely. Since then I have no sign of refund in my bank account or any answer from Sunboost in regards of my request. [name removed] was so pushy to convince me to pay the deposit, promising that if I change my mind with the offer I will get prompt refund on the deposit. Now He totally ignores my request for the refund. No contract has been sign by me. This is what I written to him: "Hi [name removed], I decided to select a different solar company to install solar system on my property and I like to cancel the installation of 6.6KWh solar system offer from Sunboost. I would like to receive a full refund on my deposit of $200,- paid to your account on 28/12/2018. With Regards " Hello [name removed] whatever is your surname...... I am waiting for you to respond to my request.

Terrible service!! What should I do now?

I've had my solar panels installed since 10th December 2018, but I've not earned a single cent. After installing the panel, you have to wait for your energy provider to install a solar meter. But when they came, they said that there is not space on my board. Now I need to get an electricion to fix this and I was quoted $4300. I called sunboost to complain about why they didn't tell me that my switchboard might not have space and warned be of additional costs. They should at least inform us of everything that we need to know when we buy our solar. I've sent them pictures of my swithboards and when the installers came to install the panels, they could have told me about this as well. Instead all they said to me was that there should be no problems and I should just wait for my solar meter installation. What should I do now? Please Help.

I never got to actual installation. Having to deal with their useless customer service call centres was bad enough. They never answer emails, never call you back, never answer straight forward questions and lie. Indian call centre. Shop elsewhere.

Disgruntled customer regarding no show of 100 cheque

When purchasing and installation of panels couldn't ask for better service, but was told and still receiving texts about 100 we referred someone they had solar installed December 2018 no cheque, I have rung and emailed no response from emails yet.

Don?t use

I wouldn?t recommend you use this company or their aliases. From our first deposit in November 2017 and finally they installed our system in February 2018 from two shonky guys from Wollongong. The battery was damaged on arrival, took a further two months to get that back on , the first inverter was faulty the new one put on in May , then things were still not running to the capacity... took four months many calls and emails for them to acknowledge the system was not right. We had 22 panels, one inverter and battery installed on a property with no interference by trees buildings etc.. we had one guy from Solax tell us there was an issue and another guy from the same place kept telling us there wasn?t ... finally they got a fantastic local guy to come and look and yes the inverter was only producing half... so for almost a year we have had a system only producing a half. They finally sent a new inverter ( which took over two weeks , with the promise every day it was on its way, which our tracking number was still stating it was sitting in their warehouse)... we had mentioned that they need to apologise firstly for their error and that they should compensate for the loss of a product that wasn?t producing what we paid for ... to no avail... they said no money compensation will be given but due to the inconvenience they will send us a google home ,ppffft I say !!! Warning to all they do not support their systems when they go wrong, they are very pushy for you to purchase but they wipe their hands when there is an issue... it has been two days with the new inverter and both days have been rather cloudy but we have generated more power in these two days than we have for easily 8months. I was happy to pay a bigger price for the local guys to install but they were not licensed to install a battery .... we have also been told that the system wasn?t even installed to standards... so we are on inverter number 3 and if this one has issues I will be demanding my money back and they can uninstall their system !!! Beware especially if you don?t live in the cities with plenty of installers... I live coastal and I know the 6-8 solar experts down this way refuse to do anything for these companies as they do not pay for their work !!!! A really bad company and disgusting customer service.... thank god we pursued the faults and finally when I mentioned fair trade ( which are now also involved) was when they decided too look into it but many months later .... Putting this warning up cause ya hard working people do not deserve to be ripped off by companies who sell a product that they cannot service!!!!

BEWARE - NEVER CHOOSE THEM

Highly false sales information. After deposit, was never able to reach the sales person.No one to verify the property and design the installation before the actual installationVery careless installation process. Licensed installers never supervise.10year workmanship warranty is false they could not produce any papers on that.30 days Guarantee / refund is fake. Have asked them to retake and no response.Process will be handled by many people and all issues will be blamed at each other within the company ending no results to the consumer. I am a victim and not sure what to do :(

Worst customer service

Sunboost offered me 6.6kw solar system. I paid the $300 deposit. Few hours later they called me and said they can?t sell me solar system at the price the offered me then I said no worries give me my money back then the Sale person [name removed] said they put the money ASAP. It has 10 day and I haven?t received a single cent from them.

Paid deposit 3 months ago still no solar!

Super fast at taking a deposit and selling a product but unfortunately 3 months later no product and no answers!!! Go elsewhere! Completely frustrated and can not get any answers! Would not recommend them at all!
